There is a place in Seoul where people can escape the heat wave and enjoy the traditional cultures of Asian and African countries.

This is the Week of Asia & Africa Performance Arts, scheduled to be held on August 3, 6, and 9 at an outdoor stage of Yeouido Riverside Park on the Han River.

The Ensembles of Afghanistan National Institute of Music presented traditional musical performances on August 3. The Kenyan group Safari Cats danced and staged acrobatic performances on August 6. Ndere Troupe of Uganda will perform traditional music on August 9.

Each of the three teams will stage unique traditional culture and art performances to represent their country. Uganda’s Ndere Troupe is an award-winning cultural dance group which won twice at an international festival held in Huis ten Bosch in the Netherlands.

Anyone who visits the Yeouido Riverside Park on the Han River can enjoy the festival jointed held by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. No tickets are needed.
