The Korea Film Council, the Korea Tourism Organization, the Seoul Film Commission, the Gyeonggi Film Commission and the Gohyang Industry Promotion Agency together signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Marvel Studios regarding the filming of “Avengers 2” in Korea. The MOU encompasses inter-organizational cooperation, assistance for filming and incentives to foreign film companies to shoot in Korea. The MOU will also cover some of Marvel Studios’ promotional efforts.

“It’s Korea’s cutting-edge technology, breath-taking landscape and unique architecture that makes it an ideal place for Marvel and for “Avengers: Age of Ultron," said Mitchell Bell, vice president of physical production at Marvel Studios. He also added that if word got out about how charming a place Korea is, and how cooperative its people are, other world renowned blockbuster film productions would probably rank Korea as one of the best locations in which to make movies. Lastly, he thanked the many organizations, citizens and local residents for all their support and cooperation, and finished with a promise. “I promise we will make an amazing movie of which all of you will feel proud.”
