The
third Multicultural Film Festival will be held from June 30 to July 13
at the CGV Cinemas in Guro and Daehangno. The festival will screen
thirteen movies, including four domestic releases and eight
international films making their Korean debuts.
International
films include the German film, “The Hairdresser,” Hong Kong's "Missing,
and “The Young Victoria” from the United Kingdom. The four Korea
movies, "Finding Mr. Destiny," "The Man from Nowhere," "Late Autumn" and
"Haunters," will all be shown with English or Chinese subtitles.
There
will be a special focus on Indian films and culture at the CGV
theaters, including a special showing of the Indian comedy, “3 Idiots,”
which centers around zany adventures of three engineering students
rooming together.
In addition to the theater screenings, the
festival also has a “Cinema on Wheels” program to bring programming to
multicultural families outside the Seoul metropolitan area who have
limited access to movie theaters. The mobile theater will show the
Korean comedy “Hello Ghost!” about a young man who is possessed by four
ghosts attempting to finish their unresolved earthly business.
CGV
Cinema staff said that the festival hopes to provide enjoyment to
people from overseas and multicultural families while helping Koreans
experience diverse cultures. Tickets are 8,000 won for weekday showings
and 9,000 won on weekends. Non-Koreans are eligible for a 2,000 won
discount.
