Model-actor Jung Hoyeon is on the cover of the February edition of the U.S. fashion magazine Vogue.


Model-actor Jung Ho-yeon is on the cover of the February edition of the U.S. fashion magazine Vogue.

Jung, who played the North Korean defector Kang Sae-byeok in the Netflix smash drama "Squid Game," is the first Asian to grace Vogue's cover since the monthly's inception in 1892.


Her management agency Saram Entertainment on Jan. 6 said, "This is an incredibly exceptional event in the global fashion industry.”


In an interview with Vogue, Jung said after the release of "Squid Game," "My entire life changed in just one month." The article said, "She began thinking of the lows of her career differently. It was when she worked the hardest: learning English, training her posture and voice, broadening her worldview through art and film."


The cover photo shoot took place in Los Angeles.

Jung began her career as fashion model in the early 2010s and has modeled for many luxury and fashion brands. She played in the drama Sae-byeok, a North Korean defector who dreams of bringing her mother from the North to South Korea to join her and her little brother.
