Four Japanese cities starting with Tokyo on Jan. 8 will host next month an exhibition on "Crash Landing on You," a hit Korean TV series that took Japan by storm.

Four Japanese cities will host next month an exhibition on "Crash Landing on You," a Korean drama that captivated Japan after its debut there in February this year.

The official Japanese website of the exhibition on Dec. 18 said the event will open in Tokyo and later in Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya. The holding of the exhibition in four cities in Japan despite COVID-19 reflects the heated popularity of the series in Japan.

"Crash Landing" is about Yoon Se-ri (played by actor Son Ye-jin), heiress to a South Korean conglomerate, and North Korean military officer Ri Jong Hyeok (Hyun Bin), who meet when Yoon accidentally lands on a tree in North Korea while paragliding.

The exhibition is full of spaces reenacting the backgrounds in the drama, such as the tree where Yoon was stuck, Ri's house and the place in Switzerland where they reunite. A combined 450 photos and clips of the production process are featured, including 250 scenes never before seen by the public, as well as the clothing and paraphernalia used by the cast during filming.
