This year’s Gwanghwamoon International Art Festival (GIAF) kicks off on May 26, welcoming visitors through June 21 to Seoul’s iconic Gwanghwamun district.

Now in its seventh year, the festival brings together artworks from Korea and abroad. Approximately 250 artists shared their work for the annual showcase, including 50 international artists from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Mongolia, Cambodia and Iran.

The Gwanghwamoon International Art Festival was created in 2005 to provide a public context for the appreciation of contemporary art and culture through easily accessible exhibitions. The festival takes place at the Sejong Museum of Art in the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, located in the heart of Seoul.

The festival was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and other organizations. Admission is free.
